44/hour) (Depending Upon Qualifications) The Ojai Valley Sanitary District is seeking to fill one vacant Customer Service Representative I position.
The salary level upon hire will be dependent on experience and qualifications.
This position is full time- in office- Monday Through Friday 8:
00am-5:
00pm The Ojai Valley Sanitary District (District) provides sanitary sewer service, collection & treatment, for residents of the City of Ojai and the unincorporated Ojai Valley.
The Customer Service Representative I performs entry-level to journey-level clerical duties in response to public inquiries regarding District services or request for sewer connections.
This position also performs a variety of administrative support duties, including assisting in billing activities, acting as receptionist, and preparing forms and documents; performs other duties, as assigned.
Operates under immediate and then general supervision.
Candidate must have the experience, knowledge and ability to:
Knowledge of:
District policies, procedures, and ordinances.
Proper use of English language, spelling usage, grammar and punctuation.
Basic bookkeeping procedures.
Principles and practices of basic research and data collection.
Municipal, State, and Federal codes, laws, and ordinances pertinent to sewer operations and environmental land use.
Word processing, spreadsheet, database and other applicable computer software Ability to:
Maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, contractors, and customers.
Learn a variety of financial and record keeping or bookkeeping principles and practices.
Collect, compile, and verify accounting data.
Maintain neat and accurate files and records.
Use proper English language, spelling usage, grammar punctuation in preparing and interpreting public records and correspondence.
Prepare and process various reports, maps, permits for customer service connections, annexations and sewer hookup.
Prepare routine correspondence.
Read and interpret blueprints and engineering documents involved in the construction of sewer services.
Interact and communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, and the general public.
Use senses of sight and hearing in performance of essential functions.
Operate and use modern office equipment.
Education Education equivalent to completion of twelfth grade or equivalent experience.
Experience Minimum of one (1) year of clerical, accounting and data collection, or equivalent-level experience in business administration, permit processing.
Licenses or Certifications A valid Class C California Driver's License preferred.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
