The Recreation Coordinator reports to the Activities Manager creating and organizing activities essential to the day to day operations of Discover Ojai, Artist Cottage, Linus Bike Kiosk, Leisure, Group, and Holiday Activities.
He/she will coordinate and audit classes and activities executed by the Recreation team to ensure a five star experience is achieved with each guest.
He/she will coordinate with the Activities Manager for program schedules, monthly inventory, Group Activity planning, and holiday offerings.
Essential:
Minimum of two (2) years' experience in a customer service oriented position.
Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic.
Warm and welcoming demeanor and exceptional phone etiquette.
Exceptional communication skills both verbal and legible written communication.

Ability to remain calm and courteous in demanding and difficult customer situations.
Ability to prioritize, organizes, and delegate work assignments.
Computer and typing proficiency in MS Office (Word and Excel).
Ability to work cohesively as a part of a team and promote positive relations with all individuals in person, by telephone and email.
Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English with parents and children, management and co-workers to their understanding.
Maintain professional appearance, behavior, integrity, and openness to guest and fellow employees.
Ability to enforce hotel's standards, policies and procedures.

Desirable:
Experience in the Hospitality industry in a similar position.

The ability to perform all reasonable services a guest may require, anticipate guest requests and requirements in order to satisfy them efficiently and promptly The ability to ensure a clean, neat and organized work area at all times The ability to work closely with other departments of the hotel, primarily spa front desk, concierge, front desk, bell staff, central reservations, sales & marketing, catering and conference services, engineering and MIS The ability to program guest activities that are in line with our brand and have a signature style of the property The ability to produce quality programs on a daily basis The ability to respond properly in a hotel emergency or safety situation The ability to protect, issue and account for all guest activity and hotel equipment The ability to be proactive with guest service and anticipate guest needs The ability to perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff Ability to initiate guest contact and communicate professionally available hotel or program features and services Ability to promote positive relations with all telephone callers and with guests at location Ability to be a clear thinker who can remain calm in pressure situations Ability to focus attention on details, be well organized and follow up Ability to maintain confidentiality of guest information and designated hotel data Ability to work with minimal supervision Ability to work cohesively with other departments as part of a team Ability to maintain and adhere to safety standards/issues regarding program facility, activities, and transportation and registration Accurately post charges to guest rooms or proper PM accounts.
Maintain resort knowledge of outlets, events, room locations etc.
The pay for this position is $21/hour.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
